Morocco from Canada, New Zealand, or Ireland: what actually changes

Three very different flight times, but the same trip once you're on the ground.

These three come at Morocco from opposite ends of the map, so the flight itself is the one thing that genuinely differs. From Ireland or eastern Canada, it's a manageable single-stop hop, similar to reaching much of southern Europe. From western Canada or New Zealand, it's a proper long-haul routing with at least one connection, closer in shape to the trip Australian travellers make.

Once you've landed, the itinerary doesn't change by nationality: the same Marrakech-to-desert routes, imperial-cities loops, and coastal stops work regardless of where the flight started. Where it matters is pacing the first day or two around however long you were actually in transit, rather than assuming everyone needs the same recovery time.

New Zealand travellers benefit from the same reversed-hemisphere timing that works for Australia: New Zealand's summer overlaps with Morocco's cooler, more comfortable months, so a trip built for the Kiwi summer holidays also happens to land in a good stretch weather-wise.

For all three, the practical basics are the same as anywhere else: check your own passport's current visa-free allowance before booking rather than assuming it matches a neighbouring country's, since requirements are set per nationality, not per region.

A few common questions

Yes, broadly, including for solo travellers, with the same common-sense precautions you'd use in any unfamiliar city. Read the full guide.
It depends more on region than month: spring and autumn suit the desert and Marrakech best, while the coast stays comfortable even in summer. Read the full guide.
Many nationalities, including the US, UK, EU, and Canada, can enter visa-free for stays of up to 90 days, but requirements vary by passport and do change. Read the full guide.
Seven days covers one region well, mountains and desert or the imperial cities. Ten to fourteen lets you combine two without rushing either. Read the full guide.
A private tour buys you control over pace and timing that independent travel or a fixed group departure usually can't match, at a higher cost per person. Read the full guide.
