Morocco tours from Singapore and Malaysia

Private routes for couples, families and multigenerational groups, with time built in for rest, food and prayer.

Why Morocco

Morocco is a Muslim-majority country with a long tradition of hospitality, and a landscape that changes every day: the Sahara dunes, the Atlas valleys, the blue streets of Chefchaouen and the medina of Fez. For many travellers from Singapore and Malaysia it is a first trip to North Africa, and a private tour makes it easier to enjoy.

Our tours are private, in your own vehicle with an English-speaking driver-guide, so the pace suits your group, whether that is a couple, a family with children or three generations.

Getting there from Singapore and Kuala Lumpur

There are usually no direct flights, so most routes connect once or twice. Common patterns are through a Gulf hub such as Doha, Dubai or Abu Dhabi, through Istanbul, or through a European city before the final flight to Casablanca, Marrakech or Fez.

Flight routes and schedules change often. Check current options with your airline or a travel agent before you book.

Time difference

Singapore and Malaysia are on UTC+8 all year with no daylight saving. Morocco is on UTC+1 for most of the year, so it is 7 hours behind you. During Ramadan, Morocco moves to UTC+0, which makes the gap 8 hours.

Entry and visas

Entry rules depend on your passport and change over time. Please confirm the current requirement for Singapore or Malaysian passports, and for any other passport in your group, with a Moroccan embassy or consulate before you book.

Best seasons and school holidays

Spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) are the most comfortable seasons for the cities and the desert. Summer is very hot inland, so a summer trip works best weighted towards the coast and the mountains. Winter days are mild, but desert nights are cold.

Singapore and Malaysian school holidays fall around June and again at the year end. A December trip suits the cities and the Sahara, while a June trip is best planned around the coast and higher ground. Check your own school calendar and festival dates, as these vary by year.

Itineraries for families and larger groups

Start from one of these and we will adjust it for your group: shorter driving days for children, a slower pace for grandparents, and rest days where you want them.

Muslim-friendly travel

Morocco is a Muslim-majority country, so halal food is the norm in restaurants and markets, and the call to prayer is part of daily life. Pork and alcohol are not part of traditional Moroccan cooking, although alcohol is available in some hotels and restaurants. Tell us what matters to you and we will plan meals and stops accordingly.

Most mosques are closed to non-Muslim visitors, with a few exceptions such as the Hassan II Mosque in Casablanca, which offers guided visits. Muslim travellers can pray at mosques along the way. Prayer stops are not built into the days by default, but we arrange them on request, so tell us when you enquire and we will plan the timing around them.

If you plan to travel during Ramadan, daytime life in the cities slows down and many restaurants open only after sunset. Our blog explains what to expect.
