2 weeks in Morocco: how to plan a longer trip

Two weeks is enough to cover the desert, the imperial cities, the Atlas Mountains, and the coast in a single loop, without the rushed feeling that shows up when the same regions are squeezed into seven or ten days. It's the length we most often end up rebuilding from scratch around a specific traveller.

A well-paced version might run: Marrakech, into the High Atlas for a night or two, over the Tizi n'Tichka and through the gorges to two full nights in the Sahara, north through the Middle Atlas to Fez, a detour to Chefchaouen and the Rif, then a final stretch on the coast at Essaouira before flying home.

The temptation with fourteen days is to add a region for every extra day available. We'd push back on that instinct: building in one full rest day, with no driving and no sights, tends to make travellers happier with the trip overall than one more city ever does.

If you're not sure how to divide the time, the regions worth prioritising, in order, are usually: the desert (it's the least substitutable experience), one imperial city done properly rather than four done quickly, and a closing coastal stretch to decompress before the flight home.
